2024 Road Construction
Watch for construction on the Turquoise Trail at the intersection of Highway 14 and Highway 536. All roads will remain open, but there may be slight delays. NM Roads will have updates.
Directions to Tinkertown
Tinkertown is located on the Turquoise Trail National Scenic Byway in Sandia Park on NM Highway 536, on the way to the Sandia Crest.
Take exit 175 North off I-40. After exiting I-40, take Highway 14 six miles up the mountain through Cedar Crest and turn left on Highway 536, the road to Sandia Crest.
Tinkertown is 1.5 miles on the left. Tinkertown is just 20 minutes from Albuquerque.

- Last ticket sold is for entry at 3:30pm

Group Tours
We schedule group tours on Wednesday and Thursday only. If you wish to bring a school or summer camp group to Tinkertown, please call us at (505) 281-5233 to make a reservation.
Accessibility
Uneven and narrow walkways in Tinkertown Museum can be a challenge for those in a wheelchair or walker. For physically challenged individuals, handicapped parking is located next to the museum entrance, and for those in wheelchairs admission is FREE.
Dog Policy
Dogs that are well-behaved and on-leash are permitted on the Museum grounds. No dogs are permitted in the Museum except for Service Animals as provided in state and federal regulations. Dogs whose sole function is to provide Comfort or Emotional Support are not by law classified as Service animals and are not permitted in the Museum. Thank you for your understanding
